Additional Resources

General

Here are some external resources that can help you get started in STATA:

  • , including short movies and lectures notes, as well as textbook examples

  • Stata Blogs: the and a list of

Math

If you are interested in exploring more of the math behind the statistics we learn and use, you may find the following resources useful:

1. Students in Math 141 (Introduction to Probability and Statistics) learn statistical computation instead of in STATA, but they learn the similar concepts and tests to what we learn in RDDA.

  • Course description
  • This year, Albyn Jones' section of the course uses a notes pack sold in the Reed ; Albert Kim's follows (available as a PDF online).
  • Albyn's lecture notes are posted online . His lab notes can be found .

2. This  from UAH contains "free, high quality, interactive, web-based resources for students and teachers of probability and statistics."

3. The Reed library has many relevant books on mathematical statistics, notably including Miller & Miller's John E. Freund's Mathematical Statistics with Applications () and Bickel & Doksum's Mathematical Statistics: Basic and Selected Topics ().
